  This is my YP Review from September 2013 and I stand by everything below. His treatment of my family infuriates me still today. Whitney Durand NEEDS to retire or die. My family (my parents especially) has known the Durands for years. He was disrespectful to my mother after my father died. She went to him to get help settling my father's estate and he did nothing. He charged her for work that he clearly did not do. My mother spent hours trying to find the right forms online to fill out for taxes and stock transfers because his office could not manage to get it done. She delivered the documents to his office and they mailed it back to her to fill out. I know my mother gave them all of her information and my dad's so that she would not have to be so involved in this process. I went with her to meet with Mr. Durand and from the get go I thought he was very degrading towards us both. I am well educated and present myself as such. I questioned his work on the estate and he went off. He started yelling and waiving his hands. My mother was frightened and when I tried to calm him down, he told me I was an idoit and he didn't want our business anymore. My mother paid her last bill and we went to another attorney who settled the estate in less than month using my mother only for review and signatures. The new attorney's bill was exponentially less than Mr. Durand. He owes my entire family an apology for his behavior. If this is how he treats friends, I would hate to see how he treats strangers. I wouldn't advise my worst enemy to use this scumbag.

  I would give Mr. Durand a zero but it won't let me. He in inconsiderate, rude, unprofessional, and a HUGE WASTE OF MONEY!! I gave him a retainer and he used it up in TWO days!!! When I got my first bill, all I saw were he and his paralegal drafting documents. I have yet to see any fruits of their labor. When I call for an update, Mr. Durand is never available to speak with me. Before I paid my retainer, he answered all my questions personally; now I'm lucky if his paralegal can give me a hint. Nothing has ever been filed in my case with the judge and I am currently looking for another attorney. I will probably have to pay another retainer but at least I can finally get this over with. Wasted: Countless hours of trying to find out what is happening $3,000 + My patience Results: Absolutely NOTHING
