  2 stars instead of 1 star only because the staff was nice and professional. I arrived around 12pm on Friday, and I waited ~2hrs in total. Their process of receiving, queuing, and assisting customers is painfully inefficient. First, 1) they make you fill out paper work then 2) they later type it into a computer while you wait then 3) you have to verify it is correct. Why not just have customers enter their info via iPad or computer then push that info into the system? That would combine 3 steps into 1. Also, they offer customers who are simply renewing their DL a shortcut (enter info on an iPad and skip all the lines). Those people need to show on the queue so I can get a real estimate of wait time. It doesn't help to show how many people are in front of me in line if they just insert the short-cut people without showing them in the queue. No one here was mean, rude, or even unfriendly. I am not leaving any negative remarks against any of the staff. But the process is so incredibly bureaucratic and inefficient that it makes me wonder how long it's been since someone in management zoomed out and asked "how can I improve this process for my customers."

  Relax and enjoy the standard two hour wait time, which is required by the State of Tennessee before service will be rendered.

  Waiting Time was annoying but staff super friendly. They did tell me when I got the number for the queue how long I will have to wait. They also told me whih days and times it would be better to come if I want to avoid long lines. So the earlier the better and Monday's and Friday's at the worst days in terms of waiting times. He ladies were friendly competent and even smiling- with all the grumpy customers around them waiting for there turn. Thank you ladies! I made it a nice experience after all.

  I never understand why DMV's are so catastrophically slow. They have over half a dozen workers & 2-3 are servicing customers while others are just sitting there watching. There has to be a better way of processing everyone. I waited over 2 hours to turn in already filled out paperwork from home, to essentially pay. Took me 30 seconds to give them the paperwork & my credit card. I don't understand why the employees just sitting there can't process the people that can walk in, drop off paperwork & money and leave. If you're able to mail off your paperwork, do it & don't come here. I couldn't even try to be as slow as these workers. They must get paid by the hour!
